Modulate information into carrier frequency changes, where frequency varies with signal amplitude

Real-World Applications

FM radio broadcasting (88-108MHz) provides high-fidelity audio. Police radio, walkie-talkies, wireless microphones, and old analog TV audio signals all use FM technology. Its advantage is good noise resistance because noise mainly affects amplitude, while FM information relies on zero-crossing detection.

Experiment Steps

  1. Observe Density: Higher frequency where waveform is dense
  2. Carson Bandwidth: BW ≈ 2(Δf + fm)
