Real-World Applications

Mobile phone communications in cities. Due to tall buildings, there is no line-of-sight path (NLOS), phones receive all reflected and scattered signals, causing severe signal strength fluctuations - this is the famous "Rayleigh fading".

Experiment Steps

  1. Deep Fading: Amplitude may drop close to zero
  2. Fading Rate: Proportional to Doppler shift
